What makes the Isle of Wight so different is that there you will find the best of Southern England’s landscape features condensed into an area of just 147 square miles, all easily accessible and unspoilt by the many large developments to be seen elsewhere. Here, you can still find miles and miles of wild and beautiful coastlines, a green heartland of tranquility and an enchanting rural community almost untouched by modern urban pressures, it is little wonder why so many choose to stay on the Isle of Wight.
Situated centrally on Sandown’s seafront, the Trouville Hotel in Sandown is the ideal location for an Isle of Wight Break.
Opposite the golden beach and with panoramic views over the sweep of Sandown and Shanklin Bay, the hotel offers the comfort and care for a well deserved break. The hotel’s 88 well appointed rooms, most with sea view, provide the facilities expected by today’s well travelled guest.
Relax and unwind, days can be spent lazing in the bars and lounge, watching the ocean liners pass and the world go by whilst enjoying the hotel’s complimentary WIFI facility. The hotel comes alive in the evening, with live entertainment in the stylish and Island’s largest hotel ballroom. Out of season, the Trouville Hotel is a firm favourite for dancing holidays, renowned for line dancing, sequence, rock n roll and more.
The Trouville is the perfect venue for an Island break. We have a proud reputation for delivering high standards in food, service and hospitality. There are some great hotel deals on our special offers page, so there has never been a better excuse to pop across the Solent and explore our wonderful Island.
A morning departure (see departure points below) making our way south to Southampton where we we have a lunchstop.
We then catch the ferry to East Cowes arriving at our hotel in Sandown late afternoon.
We include a full day island tour which include Godshill, Old Shanklin, Yarmouth and the Needles.
Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty overlooking The Needles Rocks and Lighthouse, there's breathtaking scenery and a spectacular chairlift past amazing coloured sand cliffs. The town of Yarmouth offers plenty of things to do, from walking through the cobbled streets of the town to cycling along the flat paths which run beside nature reserves. Visit one of the great local pubs or restaurants and enjoy a drink as you watch the sunset over the water. The town is filled with a range of quaint cafes, shops and galleries and the main square is overlooked by a stunning 17th Century church. Walk up Yarmouth Pier and enjoy the view of the stunning West Wight coastline.
We make a coffee stop in Godshill, a quintessentially English village of traditional tearooms and thatched cottages and also call at the the picturesque town of Shanklin. The Old Village with its pretty thatched cottages and history, housing gift shops and tea rooms.
Ryde is the largest town on the Isle of Wight with its prominent position along the seafront . In addition to an expanse of sandy beaches which stretch right along the town, Ryde has a great selection of boutique shops, museums and galleries for you to visit along with lots of other things to see and do along its esplanade.
We continue to Cowes, home to the oldest and biggest sailing regatta in the world, Cowes is the number one destination for sailors during the summer months. But it also boasts a rich wealth of history and culture with its ‘twin’ East Cowes just across the Medina estuary by chain ferry. You will be given the opportunity to take a boat trip around the bay.
