LJ Leisure 22nd Anniversary Weekend
Friday 14 January 2021 (4 Days)
Torquay is a seaside resort town on the English Channel in Devon, south west England. Known for beaches such as Babbacombe and cliffside Oddicombe, its coastline is nicknamed the English Riviera. Torquay Harbour near the town centre offers shops, cafes and a marina. Torre Abbey, a monastery founded in 1196, has art galleries and extensive gardens featuring plants from local writer Agatha Christie's novels.

The city is best known for its magnificent Cathedral but is also famous for the world renowned Worcester Porcelain, the piquant Worcestershire Sauce and the most picturesque cricket ground in the country.
Explore The Commandery to learn about our important role in the English Civil War. See a contemporary exhibition at the City Art Gallery and admire the half-timbered buildings in Friar Street. These include Greyfriars’ House & Garden and the 500 year old Tudor House. If you prefer to join a guided tour around the city, walks are available every day, morning and evening, from the Guildhall which in its own right is a truly beautiful building dating back to 1721.
We arrive at the hotel late afternoon
Today we first visit the historic market town of Totnes, sitting in the heart of South Devon on the banks of the River Dart. We then continue on to the beautiful town of Dartmouth where you will find the area around the harbour to be full of fine 18th century houses then a final stop at the picturesque village of Brixham. Life in the busy fishing town of Brixham has always centered around its pretty harbour, with cosy cafes and quaint old inns to help you soak up the local atmosphere
We will also include an excursion across Dartmoor to the city of Plymouth where you will have free time to explore this attractive and fascinating maritime city. Rain or shine, Plymouth, Britain’s Ocean City is home to breath-taking views, plenty to see and do and lots of fresh, sea air. Explore the waterfront, shop ‘til you drop or experience world-class events.
Don’t miss Plymouth’s historic harbour. Here you’ll find the highest concentration of cobbled streets in England, lined with cosy cafes, buzzing pubs and stunning shops and galleries. Make sure you enjoy a seaside treat of fish and chips or ice cream by the sea!
