The Overview
Enjoy a once in a lifetime stay at Transylvania’s Ice Hotel and absorb some of Romania’s most picturesque medieval towns on a whirlwind adventure spanning just a few days. After one night in the vibrant capital city of Bucharest, guests are whisked away into the heart of rural Romania through the plains of the Transylvanian countryside and then exploring the spooky corridors of Dracula’s would-be residence, the forbidding Bran Castle.
In Brasov, enjoy a leisurely stroll around charming cobbled streets, stopping to warm up in one of the town’s bohemian cafes dotted along snow-dusted alleyways off the main square. Or choose to unravel history on an informative walking tour taking in the Black Church and even the narrowest street in Europe!
Drift through the clouds as you ascend the Faragas Mountains by cable car up to the magical Ice Hotel past snow-capped peaks and frosty forestland. Once you’ve chosen your snow suite or igloo and explored the fairytale hotel of ice, get your heart racing with some snow-activities like sledging and snowmobiling or simply kick back with a hot drink and just enjoy the sunshine, snow and scenery. In the evening, brace yourselves for dinner ‘on ice’ with a four-course meal at the world’s first and only Ice Restaurant complete with ice plates, frozen tables and frosty, fur-lined chairs before enjoying an evening at the Sub Zero Ice Bar then tucking yourselves into cosy sleeping bags before braving the night in your ice-suite.
Defrost the next morning before exploring Brasov, Enjoy a leisurely stroll around charming cobbled streets, stopping to warm up in one of the town’s bohemian cafes dotted along snow-dusted alleyways off the main square. Then it’s back to Bucharest for a final night amongst the capital’s buzzing bars and restaurants.

The Experience
DAY 1: Arrival in Bucharest followed by a transfer to a hotel close to the airport
DAY 2: Bucharest > Bran > Brasov
Late morning we depart the hotel and travel to Bran with a visit to Bran Castle (aka. Dracula's Castle)
Late afternoon we travel to the medieval town of Brasov . Spend the rest of the afternoon and evening exploring Brasov’s charming old town
DAY 3: Optional walking tour of Brasov (extra)
Late morning we head for Balea Lake and the Ice Hotel
Travel through the Fagaras Mountains to the cable car which will transport you up to Balea Lake and the Ice Hotel. Enjoy the afternoon on the mountain with a range of snow-based activities including the unmissable Tunnel Trek (not included) before getting ready for your big night in the Ice Hotel, which kicks off with the Ice Hotel Dining Experience and drinks at the Sub Zero Ice Bar (not included)
DAY 4: After breakfast take the cable car back down the mountain and travel to Siniia.
We arrive in time for lunch (not included) and you then you have the chance to take a tour of Peles Castle
Late afternoon we return to our hotel in Bucharest where you will have the rest of the evening to enjoy this capital city
DAY 5: Morning at leisure with the chance to take a city tour or visit the People’s Palace
Mid afternoon we return to Bucharest airport for the flight back to Doncaster
